With a noise rating of 50 dBA, it's a bit louder than other Bosch dishwashers on the market, but we didn't find the sound very noticeable during testing. For best stain removal results, we recommend using the Normal and Heavy cycles, which do a great job at getting rid of really tough stains. Read More

Bosch has built and maintained a great reputation for high-end performance and design across refrigerators, cooktops, and dishwashers. Their German-engineered dishwashers come at a high price because they were some of the first to offer quiet operation.

In our lab tests, we've found that Bosch models offer great cleaning performance, consistently ranking amongst our top-scoring dishwashers. After numerous tests and Bosch dishwasher reviews in the controlled environment of our labs, we've named the Bosch 800 Series SHPM88Z75N (available at Appliances Connection) the top Bosch dishwasher you can buy.

All in all, the Bosch 500 series SHPM65Z55N is a solid, middle-of-the-road Bosch dishwasher. It offers customization and strong cleaning, but skips some of the high-end features to save you a little money.

Anyone can cram tech into a dishwasher and raise the price. One of our big jobs in testing is to sort the features that make life better from the ones that just look cool on paper. We consider cycle options, specs, and how useful (and usable) any special features are.

We're always impressed by how well Bosch's dishwashers clean our test dishes; almost every dishwasher on this list removed over 99% of stains on all three of the cycles we test: Quick, Normal, and Heavy.

Bosch was one of the first companies to really push the quiet dishwasher trend. This is especially helpful in open floor plan homes, where kitchen noise can flow straight into entertainment spaces like the living room or the dining room and overpower conversations.

The more expensive a Bosch-made dishwasher is, the quieter it is. The Bosch 800 series dishwasher we tested, with its stainless steel tub, has a sound rating of 39 dBA, which is similar to the average noise level in a library.

Bosch prides itself on its streamlined but functional design. Most models offer pocket handles and top-mounted touch controls so that, from the front, there's nothing to break up the clean lines of the dishwasher's stainless steel finish. Unsurprisingly, though, Bosch tends to favor function over form at lower price tiers, and front-mounted controls with handles become more prevalent.

As you might expect, the price of a top-of-the-line dishwasher from Bosch is probably going to come in at four figures. At this price tier, you'll get great cleaning performance, quiet operation, neat extra features, and magazine-level design and finishes. However, if your budget is smaller, Bosch has a number of different options at a variety of price points.

Even better, we don't see a major performance drop off at lower price tiers. The Bosch 100 series dishwasher, while not our favorite affordable dishwasher, still removed more than 90% of our food stains on the Quick cycle and did even better on the Normal and Heavy cycles.

A common issue with Bosch dishwashers is that it can get stuck in a mode where the power button turns red and the dishwasher doesn't react to most commands. This primarily happens when a cycle has been interrupted, but can also occur when there's an actual issue.

If your Bosch dishwasher isn't responding, the first step is to firmly press the Start button, release it after a second or so, and then wait a few seconds to see if the cycle resumes. If it doesn't, you may need to actually reset the device.

Most modern Bosch dishwashers can be reset by holding the Start button for three to five seconds. Older models will require a combination of buttons that is specific to the model, but should be indicated on the machine and spelled out clearly in the instruction manual.

The abbreviation dBA stands for "A-weighted decibels", a measure of how loud a dishwasher is when it runs. Decibels are commonly used for loudness, but "A-weighting" accounts for the way that certain frequencies are more easily perceived by the human ear than others.

This Bosch dishwasher will get you an elegant handless finish with front-panel display. The quietness level is slightly higher at 46 dB, but wifi connectivity and water softener features are a great reason to consider SHE53B75UC as your ultimate choice.

The Bosch 500 Series SHPM65Z55N dishwasher has been a true hit for Bosch. It features a timeless pocket handle design, which fits any kitchen style. This style was so successful that other major brands came up with their copy-cat products (albeit after a major delay.)

The "Auto Air Dry" is my favorite feature. This dishwasher will open its door once the cycle is over to eliminate any lingering moisture. Given the modest price increase over the 300 series, the SHPM65Z55N is ideal for most people.

Some notable Bosch dishwashers in the 800 series lineup feature the MyWay Rack. This special third rack application is ideal for ramekins, cereal bowls, measuring cups, ladles, and more. You can even find a removable flatware tray with tines that fold in this innovative third rack.

Similar to the 300 Series, Bosch 800 Series dishwashers come with a variety of design choices, as well as models suited for special applications such as ADA height for raised floors. This series also includes models with panel-ready fronts, which will allow you to customize them using your kitchen cabinet finish on the dishwasher. There are also models with a water softener and 18-inch slim dishwashers for smaller kitchens.

The Bosch Benchmark series is ideal for people seeking the quietest dishwasher with the absolute best cleaning performance. For example, the Bosch Benchmark SHE89PW75N and SHX89PW75N are the quietest Bosch dishwashers on the market at 38 dB rating.

Having said that, most people choose the Bosch SGX68U55UC due to its shorter height, which makes it ideal for kitchens that have raised floors or counters at a non-standard height. Only a handful of manufacturers make ADA dishwashers, and Bosch is by far the most prominent.

It's no secret that everyone loves a quiet dishwasher. To make their dishwasher models so silent, many manufacturers have slowed cycle times to last about two to three hours. In order to conserve energy in the process, the manufacturers also began filtering the dirty water inside the dishwasher instead of wasting ample amounts of fresh water. This is how they've achieved both silent operation and energy efficiency.

Because the cycles became so long, many people found shortcuts by washing their dishes by hand, using cycles that bypass the energy-saving "normal" cycle, or running the dishwasher multiple times on the express cycle. However, this change in lifestyle ended up causing just as much water and energy usage.

Bosch has since embraced this legislation. Although Bosch dishwashers already had an express cycle, most users selected the "normal" cycle out of habit. Additionally, the express cycle was less than ideal for cleaning heavily soiled items. Because most people chose to use the normal cycle, Bosch got a bad rep for long wash times. However, this legislation has given Bosch the opportunity to make the normal cycle faster without compromising on performance.

Bosch offers different dishwasher styles and a rich feature set to fit any budget. While the 100 and 300 Series dishwashers are ideal for those who are price conscious, the 500 Series and especially the Bosch 800 Series dishwashers will give you a high-quality clean and a number of design choices. Also, Bosch has many options for special applications, such as shorter height ADA units, a water softener for areas with hard water, and 18-inch slim products.

Bosch dishwashers with CrystalDry have the best drying performance in the industry. CrystalDry takes the internal temperature to 176 degrees F (a whopping 14 degree increase over the previous ExtraDry feature, and all without additional energy consumption). CrystalDry even outperforms dishwashers with heating elements, and it won't melt your plastics. Bosch offers CrystalDry in its 800 Series and Benchmark dishwashers.

AutoAir dry is another technology that Bosch employs in its 500 Series dishwasher. We like this feature because it opens the dishwasher door and leaves it ajar after the cycle finishes to let fresh air in. If you usually do your dishes at night, you will be guaranteed a batch of clean, dry dishes in the morning.

Lower-tier Bosch dishwashers, including the 100 and 300 series, come with the Extra Dry cycle. This cycle uses slightly higher temperature water in the final rinse to boost condensation drying action.

The Bosch 500 series has the same quietness rating as the 300 series. However, the interior is upgraded with more flexible tines and a gliding, adjustable middle rack for easy loading and unloading. The most important upgrade on the Bosch 500 series is the recessed handle design. This makes the 500 series a natural replacement for your old dishwasher as it fits in any kitchen.

We must also note that the Bosch 300 series includes the company's special application dishwashers, such as the slim 18-inch and ADA-compliant units. Bosch's panel-ready dishwasher selection also starts in this model series.

Does Bosch make Black Stainless Steel color dishwashers?Yes, Bosch makes black stainless steel dishwashers to match your kitchen design ideas. This modern finish is both fingerprint resistant and durable againsts scratches.

Where are Bosch dishwashers made?Although Bosch is a German company, it makes almost all of its dishwasher products in North Carolina. Only a few models within the Benchmark Series are made in Germamy. 041b061a72
